Since 2001, good2grow has been investing in top-quality beverages, packaging technology, state-of-the-art manufacturing, and the freshest, most nutritious ingredients available. Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, good2grow sells clean label and organic 100% fruit juice, vegetable juice, fortified water and flavored milk in bottles that are adorned with unique 3-dimensional toppers featuring a variety of licensed movie and television characters that appeal to children.  The unique packaging, with popular characters featured on each spill proof topper, also serves as a collectible toy. The Company’s products are sold primarily in single-serve bottles that are merchandised in the convenience, grocery, and mass channels and the beverages can be found in refrigerated beverage coolers or on store shelves. The good2grow products satisfy the needs of kids who enjoy the play value of the toppers and parents who appreciate the nutritional benefits of the Company’s products.

The Value Creation Opportunity

When Kainos was introduced to the founder-owned business, we successfully demonstrated our deep beverage industry experience, understanding of consumer preferences for healthy ready to drink products and extensive network of retail and distribution relationships that could enhance the growth opportunities for good2grow. The good2grow management team was also seeking a partner who recognized the value of the brand, understood the industry and its supply chain dynamics, and who would invest in new product innovation and expanding product lines for the beverage platform.

Change Capital At Work

Together with the good2grow management team, Kainos helped the Company experience transformational growth through the accomplishment of our Change Capital initiatives. We supported the expansion of good2grow’s direct-store-distribution (“DSD”) network to gain nearly full distribution in the United States, in addition to gaining secondary placement and improved merchandising displays across convenience, grocery and mass retail channels. Kainos also helped good2grow grow its PODZ Fortified Water product and successfully launch an organic flavored milk product. The Kainos Operations Team supported the Company in expanding and diversifying its supply chain with two new topper manufacturers, a secondary bottle supplier, and a secondary topper assembly facility.

In just three years, good2grow was sold in 2021 after doubling the size of the business.
